Kyle Ragsdale

Creative Renewal Arts Fellow - In 1999, the Arts Council of Indianapolis, with generous support from the Lilly Endowment, established the Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship program. Originally conceived as a renewal opportunity similar to an academic sabbatical, this groundbreaking initiative offers mid-career artists and arts administrators the opportunity to renew and refresh their creativity. In it's 9th round, the fellowship offers 30 artists and arts administrators $10,000 for an 18 month fellowship period.

Artist Kyle Ragsdale grew up in Texas and New Mexico, witnessing from a young age a mix of vibrant cultures and large, wild spaces. Since earning degrees from Baylor University (BFA) and Southern Methodist University (MFA), Kyle has been painting full time, working periodically as a decorative painter and stage set designer, and making fine art. He has curated exhibits in Texas and Indiana and has served as curator for the Harrison Center, Indianapolis since 2002.

  1. What information can you give about the painting that is displayed at the Martin Luther King Center? Title? Date? Medium? Your birthdate? This information will be included in a label to be placed by your painting and a book of photos and biographies of all artists shown at the Center. Many thanks!

  2. I would love to get more information on the painting “Judge and Jury”.
