About My Work:

My paintings express my fascination with light, color, and moments in time through oil paint. The American landscape, as well as still life, are my main subjects although I also do portraits and even animal portraits when the opportunity presents itself.

I grew up in St Joseph, Michigan and received my BFA from Michigan State University. After a career as a graphic designer, I returned to painting and studied with Annette Pate of Roswell, Georgia for fifteen years.

There is nothing more exciting than ‘seeing’ something to paint – stopping dead in my tracks and saying “I’ve got to paint that!” I believe something significant happens when I transfer my life experience onto canvas. My hope is that others will have their own transcendental moment when viewing my paintings.
