I am both a literary and visual artist, who, like many others, is inspired by the natural world. I have recently moved to Indianapolis to be closer to family from rural Maryland where I kept a small farm. I am an animal lover, an art lover, and a lover of literature. I have been painting for ten years and have been showing for the last 5 years with some success. Most of my work does emanate from nature, and as the years have passed, I have increasingly moved toward the abstract. I love the flexibility and convenience of working in acrylics but enjoy adding textural elements at times.
My education was largely in the literary arts, and before I retired I was an Associate Professor of English at a community college in Maryland where I taught an array of English classes, including creative writing and film as literature. I still do write some poetry, but my focus these days is the visual arts.
