An eccentric soul, born to create. Indianapolis born and raised, Nathaniel has been an artist his entire life. He started drawing at the age of 3, and that’s when he fell in love with art. He later attended college to obtain a degree in graphic design in favor of a creative career, but his true love is embedded in illustration and painting.
My work is explanatory of my existence as a black person in society. It’s an examination of my thoughts and feelings towards the events that I have experienced or sighted through the media.
I would describe my work as contemporary pop art, with neo-expressionistic influence, because I’m influenced by 1960s pop art, and neo-expressionism, I paint using bold colors, with dark dramatic outlines to give my work a sense of profoundness, and edge.
My work is intended to provide social commentary to its viewers, and I want viewers of my work to study it’s narrative, and reflect in a way that if necessary changes their thoughts, and actions in a positive, and proactive way.
