Sarah Jayne Mercado began her craft of upcycling in her early teens after learning how to sew. For her, art is both about the processes and the experimentations. She practices collage, assemblage, abstraction, and all the things in between.
Sarah lives in Franklin, Indiana where she immerses into her studio life surrounded by the sounds of birds, dogs, and trains. The inspiration for her art comes from her encounters with unique people and their stories, the curiosities of various societies,
I use various materials consisting of found objects, fine and decorative papers, microfiche film, wire, organic material, and fabrics.
