Taylor Walker

Taylor is a self-taught artist specializing in watercolor, acrylic, encaustic, and colored pencil. She graduated from Purdue University with a BFA in Graphic Design, but in 2020 took the plunge and decided to follow her life-long passion of being a full-time artist. Taylor’s art is Expressionist, meaning she uses exaggerated color and brush strokes to create emotional effect. She’s inspired by nature, color and animals and most often paints with bright, intense color and paint splatter. Her range is vast and so is her style, with her work ranging from abstract landscape encaustics to illustrative greeting cards to photorealistic moody florals.

In 2021 Taylor became recognized as an Indiana Artisan for watercolor; her work is at both the Carmel & French Lick locations. You can also find her art across the street at CCA Gallery & Gifts, and All Things Carmel on Main Street in downtown Carmel, in the Arts & Design District. She serves as the Vice President of Talbot Street Art Fair and on the committee of Fourth Street Art Festival.

Taylor lives in Carmel, IN with her husband, Bryan, and their 5 kitties. When she’s not painting she loves canoeing, exercising and enjoying a nice glass of Pinot Noir. Follow her @tayloredillustration
