“A circle is a straight line that never ends. My paintings are a part of me that keep evolving and changing and never ending. I knew at age six I was going to be an artist. Painting isn’t something I do, its something I am. I cannot turn it on or off, it ebbs and flows through me at its well. Art is inherent in our family; my grandfather was a self taught painter. I have been given the gift of a creative soul and the courage to follow that path. A few of my influences are Jackson Pollock,
Ideally Nelson is a large scale abstract colorist that believes deeply in expressionism. While studying for his BFA at Savannah College of Art and Design, he learned many other traditional styles such as figurative, land/cityscapes and representational.
