14th Annual Chalk Walk Arts Festival Seeks Artists and Volunteers

14th Annual Chalk Walk Arts Festival is June 3, 2017

Jasper Community Arts announces its fourteenth annual Chalk Walk Arts Festival on Saturday, June 3rd on the Square in downtown Jasper, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Rain date: Saturday, June 10th.) Spend the day exploring the world of art at this family-friendly event chock-full of creative and fun activities for the young and the young-at heart. You don’t need to have the skills of a professional artist, just a desire for fun.

Transform Jasper’s downtown sidewalks into a colorful mural! Be inspired by the works of regional and local artists as they create sidewalk art in the tradition of European 16th Century “street paintings.” High school students and clubs sport a little friendly competition with some awesome group projects.

JCA’s Chalk Walk Arts Festival offers a variety of hands-on activities for children which are all part of the registration fee. Food and beverage booths with benefits going to local non-profits help keep you energized.

Plan to browse the Arts Market, featuring the unique talents of regional artists and craftspeople in a variety of mediums. From jewelry and pottery to textiles and more, it’s a great place to find a unique gift!

Register by Monday, May 15th to receive a carry bag filled with goodies including a box of sidewalk chalk and a free T-shirt for only $10. Registrations received after May 15th will not include a free T-shirt but those may be ordered for an additional $8 while supplies last. Chalk Walk registrations were distributed to local schools in April and may be downloaded from their website www.jasperarts.org, or picked up in person at the Jasper Arts Center.
