Appointments will be given in 7-minute increments.

“IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE (a radio play)” – Mainstage Production
Rehearsal / Performance Dates:
Rehearsals begin October 30; Runs: Friday – Sunday 11/16/18 through 12/14/18.

Synopsis:
This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. Presented at The Studio Theater at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, IN.

Cast Breakdown:
CHILD ACTORS – Seeking child actors between the ages of 8 and 12 years old to portray the following roles (small stipend):
PETE, George’s son

ZUZU, George’s daughter

JANIE, George’s daughter

TOMMY, George’s son

YOUNG GEORGE, George as a child (may be played by same actor who plays George)

YOUNG MARY, Mary as a child (may be played by same actor who plays Mary)

YOUNG HARRY, Harry as a child (may be played by same actor who plays Harry)

NON-EQUITY ACTORS – Seeking Non-Equity Male actors for the following roles:
FREDDIE FILMORE (portrays the following: Announcer, Gower, Potter, Billy, Joseph, Peter, Bailey, Ernie, Old Man Collins, Ed, Man at Martini’s, Nick, Bridge Keeper, Binky, Cop)

JAKE LAURENTS – (portrays George Bailey)

HARRY “JAZZBO” HEYWOOD – (portrays Harry, Bert, Clarence, Odd-Body, Sam Wainwright, Martini, Dr. Campbell, Charlie, Man at run on bank, Horace the Teller, Mr. Welch, Sheriff)

SALLY APPLEWHITE – (portrays Mary Hatch and possibly Young Mary) – THIS ROLE IS CAST

LANA SHERWOOD – (portrays Violet, and young Violet, Rose Bailey, Matilda, Ruth, Mrs. Hatch, Mrs. Thompson, Schultz, Janie, Sadie Vance) THIS ROLE IS CAST

Preparation:
Please bring a headshot and resume stapled together. Please prepare a one-minute monologue. You may be asked to read from the script.

Other:
The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Rehearsal / Performance Dates:
Rehearsals begin early November, specific dates TBD. Performance commitment varies. Production runs: Friday 11/16/18 through Sunday 12/14/18.

Seeking singers ages 13 – 18 for pre-show caroling in IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. Must have good stage presence and able to handle harmonies.

Preparation:
Please bring a headshot and resume stapled together. Please prepare a traditional Christmas carol. You may be asked to sing harmony with other singers.

Other:
The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Location:
The Studio Theater’s Rehearsal Room (Support Space) at the Center for the Performing Arts. 4 Center green, Carmel, IN 46032.

Where do I park? Do I have to pay?
The parking garage is located across from the south entrance to the Palladium, just off 3rd Avenue SW. There is no charge for parking. See www.thecenterfortheperformingarts.org for garage location details. Click on “plan a visit”.

Where do I enter?
The auditions will take place in the rehearsal room 141/142 of The Studio Theater. Access to the backstage area is located through the double doors on the main level of the parking garage. Signs will be posted. If you park on a level higher that the first floor, take the elevator to the first floor, which will take you directly to the lobby of The Studio Theater. Turn left and go down the hallway towards the parking garage entrance. Exit through the glass doors and turn left. Enter through the backstage double doors and sign in with the monitor. If available, you may take the hallway to the left through the Civic Rehearsal Studios to reach the backstage area of The Studio Theater and sign in with the monitor.
