Backup Singer Auditions for Little Butchie Sings!
Seeking two (2) backup singer/actors for the IndyFringe Theatre Festival cabaret titled “Little Butchie Sings!: A Cockamamie Colored Cabaret,” running August 18-28, 2016.
Backup Vocalists Audition is set for Saturday morning, May 14 from 10:00am to 11:30am at the IndyFringe Basile Theatre, 719 E St Clair St, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
Looking to cast one (1) black female and one (1) white male, age 21 to 45, who will each play several characters and give vocal singing support to principal actor. Seeking candidates who can harmonize and move well. There will also be solo opportunities for the backup singers (a featured song for each singer).
In the show the male backup singer will perform a burlesque striptease dance with full or partial nudity. Our goal is make the actor comfortable and safe at all times. We can negotiate the level of undress.
Prepare one song that shows off your voice. Bring sheet music written in your key and a copy of your photo/résumé. Accompanist will be provided.
“Little Butchie Sings!,” is a collection of songs and stories about growing up fat, black and gay in the Bible belt. The musical genres include jazz standards, pop songs, show tunes and gospel.
The show will have six (6) total performances. IndyFringe sets the performance schedule and will choose the venue from eight spaces on and around Mass Ave.
Rehearsals would begin in June. Paid position.
