Theatre On The Square will hold open auditions for the opening play of its upcoming season.
PLEASE NOTE: This play will be cast prior to the TOTS Season Auditions in August.
WHAT – IT’S ONLY A PLAY by Terrence McNally, Directed by Darrin Murrell
WHEN – Wednesday, July 13 & Thursday, July 14 from 6:00-9:00pm
WHERE – Theatre on the Square, 627 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis
HOW – No appointment necessary, just show up at any time during the audition times and prepare a 90-second comic monologue. You may be asked to stay and read from the script.

Julia Budder, 30-50, a first-time producer of the Broadway play The Golden Egg
Peter Austin, 30-50, the nervous playwright
James Wicker, 40-60, an egotistical but insecure comic actor who passed up a chance to star in the play for a television series—which has since been cancelled
Virginia Noyes, 40-60, dissolute, aging star of the play; she wears an ankle monitor and drinks and snorts cocaine throughout
Frank Finger, 20-30, the young, egomaniacal, “genius” British director
Ira Drew, 50-70, insecure theater critic
Gus, 18-25, who checks the coats and hats but has aspirations for a Broadway career
WHY – This will be the Indianapolis premiere of the highly acclaimed and hilarious 2014 Broadway script by the brilliant Terrence McNally and a star vehicle for Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Stockard Channing, Megan Mulally, Rupert Grint, Micah Stock and F. Murray Abraham as well as the season opener for one of Indy’s premier arts organizations.
