SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK AUDITION NOTICE
NOBLESVILLE CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION
SUMMER OF 2020 SHAKESPEAREAN SCENES
Live performance Friday, July 24th
Federal Hill Commons, Noblesville
Directed by Jen Otterman
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s Shakespeare in the Park will be adjusting its production format to accommodate social distancing in order to protect our actors, directors and technicians. Rather than performing a traditional play, we will be presenting our Shakespeare scenes as oral interpretation. This style has the actors seated across the upstage area on stools at six foot intervals and when it is time for their scene, the designated actors will move downstage to a microphone area where they will perform. There will be no bodily contact, but all other acting dynamics, voice, interpretation, gesture, facial expression and movement, will be used. We have included a link where you can see a sample of oral interpretation and how it works.
Complete an audition form and upload a 2 minute (or 4 minute for a duo) monologue by June 3rd at www.NoblesvilleArts.org
