Apply to participate in the 51st Broad Ripple Art Fair in the Emerging Artist Area!

DEADLINE TO APPLY: March 8, 2023

Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21: 10 am-5 pm

For 51 years, the Indianapolis Art Center has put on the Broad Ripple Art Fair. You are invited to celebrate this milestone event as an emerging artist, continuing the annual tradition of connecting artists with the central Indiana community. The mission of the Indianapolis Art Center is inspire creative expression in all people by providing interactive art education, outreach to underserved audiences, support to artists, and exposure to the visual arts.

EMERGING ARTIST AREA

The Indianapolis Art Center is very excited about bringing back the Emerging Artist Area to the OneAmerica Broad Ripple Art Fair. Artists will again be able to participate in the sale of their own artwork amongst other participating professional artists. This is a great opportunity for students to build comradery among other students and artists, to sell their work, gain experience working with patrons, and explore making the leap into professional art making.

  • Application Deadline: March 8
  • Acceptance Notifications Sent: March 15
  • Limited spots available.
  • All applicants will go through a jury process.
  • Applications open to Art Center students, local college students, and emerging artists in the community.
  • Fee to apply: FREE
  • Booth Fee for accepted artists: $200 - Includes both Saturday and Sunday
  • Booth Fee includes a 10x10 foot space. Tent(s) and/or indoor space will be provided by the Art Center.
  • More information on set up, tear down, and layout will be made available at the time the acceptance notifications are sent out.

ELIGIBILITY + RULES:
Indianapolis Art Center students who have taken at least one class or workshop since January 2020, any local college students who are currently enrolled and in their sophomore, junior, or senior year, or are a graduate student, or local emerging artists in the community that are not exhibiting at a professional level, are invited to participate in the Emerging Artist area of the Broad Ripple Art Fair.

  • Emerging Artists may not sell any work outlined as ineligible in the prospectus (available at www.zapplication.org or via email by request), and they may not sell work that is packaged, licensed, or distributed for mass sale (“buy-and-sell” items).
  • There are limited spaces available for artists this year. Artists will be selected by jury process. Artists will be notified on Wednesday, March 15th, regarding acceptance.
  • Artists will be responsible for handling their own sales and sales tax. There is NO COMMISSION TAKEN by the Art Center on your artwork sales.
  • Artists are responsible for all of their own packaging, wrapping, receipts, and other materials they deem necessary for their sales.
  • Indianapolis Art Center faculty members are not eligible for participation.
  • Artists must be 18 or older to participate, must sign the Risk and Liability Statement, and are responsible for their own insurance.
