Solo or Group Exhibition Proposals

IU Kokomo Downtown Gallery is looking for solo or group exhibition proposals for a May 2020 Exhibit. There is no fee to submit a proposal. The following criteria must be submitted.

• Solo or Group Exhibition Proposal (1-2 pages)
• Artists statement, bio, & Brief Resume or CV
• 15-20 High Quality images of the work
• Image list with corresponding filename, titles, media, size, and price

GALLERY:  The Downtown Gallery is located in downtown Kokomo. The gallery displays artwork by students, faculty, alumni and local, regional and national artists throughout the year.

ELIGIBILITY:  This juried proposal process is open to all artists over the age of 18, who reside in the United States. All work must be original and completed within three years of the exhibition date. All work must be accurately represented in jpeg images.  Work not meeting these criteria will not be exhibited. There is no fee to submit a proposal.

PRESENTATION:  Professional presentation of each piece is required. 2D and 3D work are both accepted. 2D work must be framed and have a secure way to hang the piece if it requires hanging. For canvases, the sides and all staples must be covered.

ENTRY:  All entries must be made through the gallery email ugallery@iuk.edu.  All entries will be chosen from high-resolution (300dpi) jpeg images.  Files not to exceed 5MB. The gallery reserves the right to reproduce images accepted into the show for promoting and archiving the exhibition. Due to a generous donor, there will not be a fee required for entry. Questions should be directed to ugallery@iuk.edu subject line “May 2020 Exhibition Proposal”.

DELIVERY & PICK-UP:  Delivery and pick-up of artwork will be the responsibility of the artist.  The artist may choose to either personally drop-off and pick-up the work during gallery hours or ship their work to the gallery.  It is the artist’s responsibility to send any shipped artwork in a sturdy, reusable box with a PREPAID return shipping label inside.  Any work not picked up 30 days after the end of the show will become the property of the Indiana University Kokomo Downtown Gallery.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:

• Entries due: 11/25/2019
• Notifications to artists on or before: 12/19/2019
• Setup: 4/25/2020-4/30/2020, (during gallery hours: alternate hours upon request)
• Exhibition Dates: 5/1/2020-5/28/2020
• Opening Reception: 5/1/2020 5:30pm-9:00pm
• Pick-up Artwork: 5/29, 5/30, 6/3, 6/4/2020 (during gallery hours)
