Call for Submissions

Attention Visual Artists:

Blackline Studio, an architecture, planning and interior design studio is seeking submissions for a fine art exhibition to be installed at Blackline in the historic and newly renovated Murphy Building in Fountain Square. They are looking for work that responds to COLOR – the exploitation of it and the absence of it. This is an opportunity to display large, small, 2-D, 3-D and video* work.

*Video work will be displayed on the monitor for the opening ONLY.

There is no submission fee, but the curator will retain 20% of all sales made during the exhibition.

Important Dates:

Deadline to Submit: 5:00 pm, Monday November 5
Notifications to artists will be no later than 5:00 pm, Friday November 16
Drop off times for selected work will be Sunday November 25 from 10:00 – 2:00 or by appointment.
Exhibition will open Friday December 7 with a reception from 5:00 – 9:00pm
Exhibition will hang through Friday January 11, 2019. Unsold artwork will be picked up by appointment.

Submission Instructions:

• Please submit 2-3 images of each piece you are submitting (maximum of 3) to indyartevents@gmail.com
• Organizers and hosts are not responsible for damage or theft. It is the artist’s responsibility to insure work as appropriate – exhibition space is the interior of an office and well monitored.
• Subject line should be: COLOR – Blackline Exhibition – Your Last Name

Include with each submitted work:

• Your Name (as you wish to have published and displayed)
• Title
• Media
• Dimensions (with any special installation instructions)
• Price (sorry, they are not accepting NFS work)
