This one’s for the kids! Just in time for March Madness, this exhibition will feature artwork from youth artists (17 & younger) with mad talent in a variety of mediums. Submit your monster-themed artworks from the friendly to the fantastical!

Youth artists (ages 17 & younger) working in any 2D or 3D mediums are encouraged to apply. Acceptable media include, but art not limited to: paintings, drawings, fiber arts, digital art, photography, sculpture, ceramics, mixed-media, collage, assemblage, mosaics, metalsmithing and woodworking. Artwork must represent or be inspired by the theme of monsters and fantasy. Abstract interpretations are welcome!

There is no cost to submit.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Freestanding work must not exceed seventy-two (72) inches in height or fifty (50) pounds. Original 2D works must not be larger than 48” x 60.”
  • All works must be ready to hang or install upon arrival. If your piece hangs, some sort of hanging structure, such as a wire, must be included as we cannot hang anything from the ceiling. Please contact GPAC for information or questions. If shipped, work must include return shipping.
  • Please indicate your desire to participate in the show by emailing GPAC@indy.gov by February 16, 2018, or by mailing a portfolio to The Garfield Park Arts Center. In your email or mailed portfolio, please include your name, address, phone number, email, a short artist statement or bio, and a brief description of your work including: titles for each piece, mediums, and dimensions. Please also include the images of your work you intend to submit for the exhibition, either attached to the email or on a CD, if mailing a portfolio.

Artists will be notified of all decisions no later than February 20, 2018.
All works must be delivered to the Arts Center no later than Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 4pm. If you would like to make arrangements to drop off your work during non-business hours, please call or email us.
The GPAC is a family friendly venue so all artwork must be venue appropriate.
Artwork must be picked up within 1-2 weeks after the exhibition ends.
