Central Library | June 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Would you like to be a featured author?

Featured authors will receive table space to network with other authors, meet the public, and promote books. Set up will occur between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. that day. You do NOT have to fill out more than one application if you are interested in showcasing more than one book. Should you choose to do a short individual presentation of your work in the Center for Black Literature & Culture (CBLC) with a short Q&A, a short bio and image of your book's cover will be required.

Complete this application to be considered.

Tables and seating are limited. Submissions for consideration will be accepted through May 31, 2023. The application will take approximately 7-10 minutes to complete. If you have questions or further concerns, please email Amira Malcom (amalcom@indypl.org).

Inspired by the work of Octavia Butler and other authors and artists, the CBLC is bringing together poets, visual artists, storytellers, musicians, and book clubs to emphasize cultural literacy! This year’s author presentation is called Afrofuturism: A Glimpse into the Black Future. CBLC is also excited to be partnering with Courtyard Jams to provide a more in-depth music experience.

Juneteenth is a national holiday that celebrates the emancipation of enslaved Texans two years after the signing of the emancipation proclamation in 1863.
