Summary/Objective

The Production Technician will support the Production (Audio, Lighting, Staging, Video) and Events departments as required at the Center for the Performing Arts.

Essential Functions

  • Assist all production departments with operation and maintenance
  • Operate all technical systems for the Palladium, Tarkington, and Studio Theater as needed, to include basic lighting design and audio mixing
  • May supervise overhire and resident company crews during load-in, load-out, and performances
  • Set up and operate technical elements for events scheduled in CPA ancillary spaces
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Q-Lab
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience (Indicate education based on requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree level of education or equivalent experience
  • Experience with digital mixing consoles and audio systems
  • Experience with ETC fixture, control and dimming systems
  • Experience with visual display systems
  • ETCP certified technician a plus

Supervisory Responsibility

This position may supervise overhire and resident company staffing.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional event venue environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Ability to work at heights
Strong sensory skills, such as good eyesight, good hearing, and dexterity, especially in low-light situations
Ability to bend, push, lift, carry, pull, and move up to 50 pounds
Ability to speak and listen clearly, especially via radio
Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and phones
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full-Time Position with Full Benefits and 401(k) eligibility. Will require working evenings and weekends.

 

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.
