This major installation will serve to enhance the Carmel Clay Public Library’s mission to inspire lifelong discovery, facilitate collaboration and connect people with resources. It will also amplify the library’s vision which includes supporting a diverse community of people committed to learning throughout all ages, an enhanced quality of life and enriching social and cultural experiences. The City of Carmel would like the sculpture to complement the library building and also serve as a memorable place-making gateway to its well-established Arts and Design District. While this commission does not have to directly relate to the style or theme of the library architecture, it should visually complement them.
