City of San Antonio Seeks Artists for Public Art Roster

The City of San Antonio seeks professional qualifications from local, state, and national artists for potential public art projects. The FY2017 Pre-Qualified List is used to select public artists for upcoming commission opportunities to create new public artworks in conjunction with City-funded capital improvements. Public art commissions include projects designed to improve and enhance new or existing city parks, plazas, streetscapes, and facilities. Individual public art budgets range from small to mid-size projects (ex: $50,000 to $150,000), to large scale commissions (Ex: $150,000 and above).

The City of San Antonio is the seventh most populated city in the country and the second most populated city in the state of Texas. San Antonio is home to over to 1.4 million residents and welcomes 31 million visitors a year. The City’s permanent public art collection is comprised of artworks by local, national and international artists that contribute to San Antonio’s culture and vitality. In 2018 the City will celebrate the 300th anniversary of the founding of San Antonio with a variety of commemorative projects reflected within the arts and culture. For more information visit
