Decatur Sculpture Tour Seeks Submissions

Decatur Sculpture Tour (DST) invites sculptors to submit a Call to Artist form for the 12th year of the Decatur Sculpture Tour (2023-24). Submissions are due by January 21, 2023. The Decatur Sculpture Tour is an outdoor sculpture exhibit (June - April) in downtown Decatur, located 20 miles southeast of Fort Wayne with approximately 20 new outdoor sculptures each year on exhibit.

This is the 12th year for the DST 10-month outdoor/indoor exhibition, with up to 20 outdoor and 10 indoor sculptures estimated to be accepted. Priority will be given to sculptures with broad appeal to audiences of all ages that provide for a variety of exhibits.

The sculptures are owned by the artists and loaned to the program for up to one (1) year. With pre-approval of the artist, all sculptures will be for sale to the public and featured in the Decatur Sculpture Tour brochure. Accepted artists will receive an honorarium and be eligible for cash awards. The sale price should include the 25% DST commission.

Eligibility for awards: Artist must be at least 18 years of age. Submitted sculptures must be original works created within the last three years, suitable for outdoor display and for sale.

Artists are invited to submit up to four original sculptures to DST. Entries will be critiqued based on artistic merit, public safety, variety of entries, and durability in an outdoor setting. Artists will be notified of the selection committee’s decision by Friday, February 24, 2023. Installation dates are Thursday, June 8, and/or Friday, June 9, 2023 (the installation schedule will be set after exhibits are confirmed).
