Footlite Musicals is proud to present Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. as their summer workshop under the direction of Tara Roberds and Amy Matters. The workshop is for elementary school children ages 6-12 and includes instruction in vocal technique, basic dance, audition preparation and acting improvisation.

Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com.

Registration will be available online the last week of January, 2017

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
The two week workshop runs June 12-23.  Sessions are weekdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with a rehearsal and two performances on Saturday June 24th.

Dates:   June 12-24, 2017

Time: 9am to 3pm

Where: All workshop sessions will be held at Footlite in our annex facility at 1835 North New Jersey Street, directly behind Footlite’s home, the Hedback Community Theater, 1847 North Alabama Street, Indianapolis, IN. The final performance will be held on the stage of the Hedback.

Performance: June 24, 2017. Green Cast will have call at 9:00 am and performance at 10:30 am.  Purple Cast will have call at 1:00 pm and performance at 2:30 pm.  Cast assignments will be made following the auditions on the first day of class.  If you have scheduling conflicts on the 24th, please let the staff know ahead of time.  (The students will be called to a rehearsal prior to the show)
There is no charge for the performance and all friends and family are invited. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis

Cost:  The cost of the workshop is $150 per child. A show T-shirt is included. Children should bring a sack lunch. Limited scholarships are available. Please complete the registration form and then select the "Invoice Me" option. We will contact you no later than June 1 regarding scholarships.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS
Tara Roberds, Stage & Vocal Director Tara graduated from Butler University in Music Education in 2010. She is the music teacher at Cedar Elementary in Avon. Tara has directed many children's productions and camps with the Avon Education Foundation, Hendricks Civic Theatre, Wayne Township Community Theatre, and Footlite Musicals. She is also an avid performer at Footlite. She recently received an Encore award for Best Female Singer for her role of Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray.

Amy Matters, Assistant Director & Choreographer Amy has been the Assistant Director and Choreographer for the past two summers at Footlite.  She has also been seen in many shows at Footlite as well as choreographed or assistant choreographed many others. She is an Instructional Assistant at Acton Elementary and loves working with children!
