Call For Artists
Evoking The Streets: Graffiti and its Influence
May 7, 2016—May 28, 2016
Graffiti is the act of proclaiming your mark on the world and it has allowed countless young artists to express their vision without restriction. This May the Garfield Park Arts Center will feature works by current local artists whose work is influenced and informed by this medium. All works are welcomed from photography of local graffiti to painting and drawings. The exhibit will be on display May 7-28, 2016.
Artists are invited to create and submit 3-4 works of original art for this exhibition. There is no cost to submit.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Original works must be ready to hang or install.
- Please indicate your desire to participate in the show by emailing Elsy Benitez at elsy.benitez@indy.gov by April 11, 2016 or mail a portfolio to The Garfield Park Arts Center. Please include your name, email, a brief description of your work and/or a short bio. Please also include the samples of your work you intend to submit for the exhibition, either attached to the email or on a CD.
- Artists will be notified of all decisions no later than Saturday, April 16, 2016.
- All works must be delivered to the arts center no later than Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 4pm.
- The arts center is a family friendly venue so all artwork must be venue appropriate.
- The opening reception will be held Saturday, May 7 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
