Garfield Shakespeare Company Holds Auditions for Summer Festivals and "The Tempest"

Garfield Shakespeare Company will be holding auditions for TWO OPPORTUNITIES at the same time!

Starting Tuesday, August 9th and running until Thursday, August 11th, join the Company at the MacAllister Amphitheater at Garfield Park between 6 pm and 9 pm to audition for two summer performances.

Auditioners for both performances should be prepared to read selections from the respective scripts. There is no need to prepare a monologue! There are no “audition slots” – feel free to come when you are available and stick around as long as you would like. All experience levels are welcome!

Garfield Shakespeare Company will be performing scenes from across Shakespeare’s works at Washington Township Parks Medieval Festival on 9/17/2022. The Company is also returning to Clayshire Castle’s Medieval the very next weekend on 9/24 and 9/25/2022! This is a PAID opportunity – performers will be compensated with a travel stipend for each day of performances.

Selected Works:
Comedy of Errors
Much Ado About Nothing
Twelfth Night
We are also seeking directors! If you are interested in directing, come to the auditions with a résumé of theatrical experience.

Questions regarding the Summer Festivals should be directed to Festival Director Autumn Stannard at

Garfield Shakespeare Company’s second regular season production of The Tempest will run 10/13 – 10/15 and 10/20 – 10/22. In addition to reading scenes from the script, be prepared to sing 16 bars (or 1 verse and 1 chorus) of a sea shanty or pub song a capella.
