Project Description and Site

The City of Glendale is embarking upon the process of constructing a new branch library in Yucca District in the western part of the city. The new Heroes Regional Park Library, situated on approximately two acres within the Heroes Regional Park site (83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road), will expand Glendale Public Library services to areas of western Glendale.

The focus of the interior public art project is an artist-designed terrazzo flooring that runs through the center of the library (approximately 1600 square feet) with design elements extended through the glass on entry doors and the exterior concrete entryway.

The focus of the exterior public art is a metal sculptural piece for the exterior entry wall (approximately 12 feet by 10 feet), potentially, though not restrictively, in Corten steel, with an optional free-standing metal sculpture in the front landscape area.
