About the Role
The Grants, Research & Community Investments Coordinator provides support for the Arts Council’s grantmaking and grants management operations. This includes annual programs such as the Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship Program, City of Indianapolis Annual Grants Program, Robert D. Beckmann, Jr. Emerging Artist Fellowship Program, DeHaan Artist of Distinction Award, as well as special programs, such as COVID-19 relief grants. We are seeking a colleague who wants to make a positive, productive, and progressive impact on the Arts Council’s mission and the arts and culture economy in Indianapolis. This position reports to the Director of Community Investment.

 

The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Core Responsibilities

  • Track and ensure that grant application drafts, final applications and final reports are reviewed and submitted on time.
  • Update, maintain, and monitor grant program spreadsheets, databases, and reporting to ensure both grantee and funder compliance.
  • Maintain the Arts Council’s online grants management system, and provide frequent contact updates to Salesforce.
  • Support Arts Council research and evaluation initiatives, including survey design, implementation, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Support development of Arts Council communications and presentations for key stakeholders.
  • Review final grant reports to ensure contract compliance and make recommendations to the Director of Community Investment.
  • Provide training to potential grant applicants on funding opportunities.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual outreach to underrepresented communities to expand access to grant opportunities.
  • Initiate, plan, coordinate, and implement grant projects and services and meet deadlines.

Education/Skills/Abilities
Bachelor’s degree (prefer degree in arts administration, nonprofit management, data analytics, communications, or related field)

  • Love of arts and culture, transparency, integrity, curiosity, a growth mindset, and a drive for excellence and innovation.
  • Excellent time management and initiative/accountability in meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with consistent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including ability to interact directly with key stakeholders and the public.
  • Flexibility and dependability.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Survey Monkey, Salesforce, GoSmart (or other grants management systems) is a plus but not required.

Salary & Benefits
$38,000-$42,000 based on education and experience. As part of its compensation program, the Arts Council also covers 100% of employee health, dental, and vision insurance benefits, healthcare flex spending account (FSA), retirement fund contributions after the first year, paid time off, and a flexible work environment with a hybrid remote/in-office schedule, and more.
