The holiday season is upon us and the Harrison Center is seeking submissions for its annual Holiday Window Walk, now in its fourth year. Click here to see a video about the first Window Walk in 2015. Details for this year’s application process are below.
Location: Street level windows, Harrison Center, 1505 N. Delaware Street.
Selection Criteria: Designs will be selected based upon aesthetic design, visual impact on pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and appropriateness of content (should be appropriate for all audiences).
Compensation: Selected artists will receive $100 per window installation. Additionally, one each 1st ($500), 2nd ($250), and 3rd ($100) place prizes will be awarded.
Timeline: Deadline for entries November 2. Artists notified of selection by November 9. Window installation begins: November 19. Completed: November 30. Prizes announced December 10. Window deinstallation: week of January 7.
Application instructions: Click here to access the online application. Please give a written description of your concept and attach a mock up (sketch, photo, computer-generated image) of your window installation with as much detail as possible.
22 windows are available and range in size from approximately 39” x 36” x 34” to 55” x 36” x 14”. Power strips will be provided to each window, but artists should incorporate light into the design for the window.
