In 2014, the Harrison Center began an initiative to encourage urban Indy residents to host porch parties as a way to strengthen relationships among neighbors. The trend caught on and in 2016, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway joined forces to promote Indy500 Porch Parties statewide in the month of May. They are looking for art that celebrates this movement for a group show in Speck Gallery, May 3-31, 2019. The show opens with an artist reception from 6 to 10pm on Friday, May 3.
