iTooLL is happening!!! Tool Lending & Co-ownership for Indy!
It’s been a year since they won the Indy 5×5 contest and held the #Tunes4Tools fundraisers, and they are excited to officially open to the public!
iTooLL is a media tool lending library presented by iAMCo-op and Kheprw. Members can reserve in advance and rent out PA’s, Stage Lighting, Video Cameras, Professional Photoshoot lighting kits, DSLRs, MacBook Pros with the Adobe Suite, Zoom Audio Recorders, Mics, Outdoor Canopies, etc… for only $1 a week. iTooLL members are also given purchasing power to fill the library with the tools they need. Why do we do this? Because economic status should not determine Indianapolis art and culture! Visit www.iamcoop.org/iTooLL for tool list and more details.
Indy Art | Media Co-op (iAMCo-op) is a nonprofit collective of creatives, makers, organizers, and aspiring professionals who focus their ideas, talents, and resources to encourage positive change. They started out wanting to understand community connectivity and how to effectively support their neighbors. In 2014, they began hosting free, monthly gatherings in the Haughville neighborhood that screened socially conscious films and facilitated community discussions. Their efforts soon led them to explore fundamental ways in which people can share their skills, time, and assets and how these relationships of reciprocity form. They wanted to promote sharing between neighbors in the community, and through much research and discussion, determined the best way to do this was to physically share valuable resources. After hosting two fundraisers and winning the Indy 5×5 contest, the Indy Tool Lending Library (iTooLL) opened to the public in October of 2016. They are now based in the Crown Hill neighborhood of Indianapolis inside the Kheprw Institute facilities.
