Since 1996, Art & Soul festival has kicked off Black History Month in Indianapolis and celebrated Black culture and creativity through visual art and performances. The Indy Arts Council invites Indianapolis-based artists, and arts, culture and community leaders to partner with us in developing and co-hosting the 2024 festival and selecting the four emerging Featured Artists. Each Program Partner will receive a $500 stipend ( annually) with commitment to serving a 2-year term and option to renew.
Applications will be reviewed by the current 2022/2023 Program Partners, which include leaders from Asante Art Institute, FLAVA FRESH !, IIbada Dance Company, and Indy Jazz Fest. Program Partner Eligibility
An Art & Soul Program Partner is an Indy-based Black artist, arts administrator, creative, and/or arts & culture worker who:

Program Partner Role
Help plan the Art & Soul Black art & musical festival as strategic advisor/curator
Provide mentorship to the selected Featured Artists in preparation of the Art & Soul events
Commitment to serving 2-year term with $500 stipend (annually) and option to renew
Capable of representing their organization and presenting during Art & Soul events in February 2024
Applicants will be evaluated based on the overall excellence of work and demonstration of exceptional talent; and the ability to contribute to meeting the goals for Art & Soul and enhancing the year's theme for the program.
