Indy Arts Council Requests Proposals for Programming at the Indianapolis Artsgarden

Introduction

Indy Arts Council is central Indiana’s leading arts advocacy and services agency. Our mission is to nurture a culture where artists and arts organizations thrive. The Indianapolis Artsgarden, owned and operated by the Indy Arts Council, hosts 300+ events and public performances every year.

Request for Proposals

The Indy Arts Council is seeking proposals for public programming in the Indianapolis Artsgarden from May through October 2024. Proposals must engage central Indiana-based curators and artists and be free, open to the public, and appropriate for all audiences. Including but not limited to performances, visiting artist talks, panel discussions, exhibitions, participatory activities (dance, yoga, artmaking, etc.), live podcasting, artisan markets, open mics, and more! Accepted proposals will be scheduled in consideration with the overall Artsgarden calendar.

FAQ & Considerations

  • Priority will be given to proposals that are aligned with the Arts Council’s equity values, including engagement of artists of color at 50% or more as well as representation of the cultural diversity of Marion County.
  • Events or acts with a built-in audience perform best in this space.
  • Collaborative marketing and promotion is desired.
  • Tech and A/V support is provided by the Artsgarden team.
  • Access to the Artsgarden grand piano is included.
  • Insurance Requirements: Curators will need to carry workers compensation insurance or be able to obtain a clearance certificate from the State before the work commences. Performers will need to carry general liability insurance. Financial and administrative support to obtain it will be offered as part of the program budget.
