IndyFringe Seeks Executive Director

   

IndyFringe is seeking an Executive Director to guide the organization in becoming a Midwestern hub for vibrant performing arts, cultivating creative talent and investing in bold theatre. Known for its annual three-week IndyFringe Festival, IndyFringe also has a robust year-round schedule of performances. IndyFringe operates a presenting theatre, providing performance space for the many performing groups in the Indianapolis area and from around the country.

To continue to carry out IndyFringe's mission – advancing the performing arts year-round by creating access to a multitude of opportunities for artists, audiences, and the community to thrive – there must be a dynamic and passionate leader. The ideal candidate demonstrates 3 core traits: a passion for the arts; empathy and a desire to empower others; the ability to turn vision into action.

Founded in 2005, IndyFringe is part of a network of Fringe programs that began in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1947 and has spread across the world.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide support to the Board and board leadership committees.
• Steward the organizational strategic and artistic goals in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Associate Director.
• Oversee fundraising including corporate sponsorships, foundation support and grant writing, and individual donors. Oversee implementation of annual fundraising event in conjunction with board and committee.
• Provide oversight of the IndyFringe Festival, OnyxFest, 10-Minute Plays and other festivals in conjunction with partners and contracted staff.
• Oversee marketing for all programs, advertising, and media.
• Maintain active engagement with other community stakeholders including Arts Council, Visit Indy, Downtown Indy, U.S. Fringe Association.
• Manage budget, oversight of income and expenses including working with accountant to produce timely financial reports and prepare annual 990 and financial statements. Management of all bank accounts, cash flow, etc.
• Implement policies, roles and compensation, benefits, etc. as determined by the Board. Meet regularly with staff as team and one-on-one.
• Direct Reports: Associate Director, Box Office Manager, Volunteer Coordinator

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLSET
• At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, philanthropy, marketing, business, or another related field.
• Five years of nonprofit leadership including development, marketing/public relations, event planning, and organizational management experience.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Skill at managing multiple concurrent projects, involving multiple interested parties.
• Experience with standard office software, website software/analytics and fundraising databases, CRM experience, and social media.
• A passion for the performing arts.
