Insurance Trade Association Offers Sculpture Commission

The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies is seeking to commission an artwork replicating a fire insurance mark, a historical marker dating to the 1700s that was placed on houses covered by fire insurance policies. While the emblems were to denote fire service, they also promoted the philosophy of citizen helping citizen. A few examples are below.

As NAMIC prepares for its 125th anniversary, they are interested in creating a fire mark with a modern look through the use of glass, metal, or ceramic. The piece should be approximately 10" x 12" or 12" x 12" and ready for unveiling by July 2020. Compensation is set at $5000 - $8000.

NAMIC is the largest property/casualty insurance trade association in the country, with more than 1,400 member companies throughout the United States and Canada. You can learn more about NAMIC at www.namic.org.

Please submit your contact information and examples of your work to Cathy Imus, cimus@namic.org and Lisa Floreancig, lfloreancig@namic.org
