The Oregon Arts Commission manages the Percent for Art in Public Places Program for the State of Oregon. The roster serves as a resource for percent for art selection panels to identify artists most suitable for specific projects. Artists are invited to submit their qualifications for the Oregon Art in Public Places Roster for 2020-2022 selections.
Budget: Project budgets vary
Eligibility: Professional artists living and working in the US (or non-US residents with US work permits) who have successfully completed at least two site-specific commissions.
Deadline: September 10, 2019 11:59PM, MDT (Mountain Daylight Time)
HOW IT WORKS
Selection panels have the option of using the roster either in combination with an open call or invitational or as the sole resource for identifying appropriate artists for a project. The Roster is completely refreshed every three years. If you were selected for a previous Oregon Art in Public Places Roster you must reapply to be considered for the 2020-2022 Roster.
DEADLINES
The application deadline for the 2020-2022 artist roster is September 10, 2019. After the initial deadline, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed periodically. If you wish to apply after the initial deadline, please contact Eleanor Sandys at the Oregon Arts Commission: eleanor.sandys@oregon.gov for details on how to apply. Artists not selected for the roster may reapply one year from being notified.
SELECTION PROCESS
A panel of arts professionals appointed by the Oregon Arts Commission will review application materials and recommend applicants to be included in the 2020-2022 roster. All applicants will be notified of their status after the review process is completed.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The review panel will score applicants based on the following criteria.
The Oregon Arts Commission reserves the right to convey comments by the review panel to respective project selection panels when appropriate.
