Part-Time Painting Assistant

Established Indianapolis artist who specializes in custom murals, faux finishes and fine art on canvas is seeking a part-time painting assistant and general helper.

The ideal candidate will be able to have a flexible schedule, as hours and times needed will vary from week to week, though most  times needed should fall within the average work week, Monday though Friday, 9-6pm. Occasionally, said helper may be needed for gallery events and art fairs, which would fall outside of these hours.

Required skills:

• Excellent interior and exterior base coat painting skills.  Must be able to cut in a straight line.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
• Ability to hand paint letters with minimal use of tape.  Must maintain clean lines and edges.
• Excellent taping skills, for use on trim, walls, concrete, etc.
• Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn.

Bonus skills:

• Experience with painting large scale murals.
• Experience with creating faux finishes.
• Artistic talent.
• Sales experience.
• Photoshop experience.

Pay will be $12-$15 per hour, depending on experience. This is a contractor-type position, so a 1099 will be issued at the end of the year.
