The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis is holding auditions for string players to join the orchestra in the 2016-2017 season.
The Phil is a high quality all volunteer community orchestra that has entertained the Indianapolis community for 75 seasons. In 2016-207 will will perform 4 classical concerts, one gospel concert, 2 educational concerts, and a summer concert in the park.
Auditions will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at St Paul’s Episcopal Church at 6050 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208
If you are not available on the 27th, please register anyway. There are a limited number of audition openings on the evening of September 7.
To audition, please prepare two numbers that demonstrate your musical talents. One piece should be fast and technical and the other slow and lyrical. Our Artistic Director, Orcenith Smith, will hear you privately. You may be asked to sight read music from our upcoming season. Like the Phil itself, auditions are friendly and relaxed.
