Phoenix Theatre Seeks Artwork for Exhibition

The Phoenix Theater would like to highlight artwork in conjunction with their performances, Cry it Out and Silent Sky. The play Cry It Out focuses on two mothers raising a child, while themes of motherhood and events of life occur between the family. Silent Sky focuses on a true story of 19th century, Harvard graduate, astronomer and scientist Henrietta Leavitt, as she pioneers the field primarily dominated by men. The artwork submitted by artists should touch upon and reference some aspect of the themes dealt in both productions. A subtle reference to these themes/production can be subtle and minimal and still be successful for this exhibition. The artwork does not have to be about these specific productions, however all entries should reference/highlight some aspects of these themes as chosen by the artist. A reference to either productions can be subtle and minimal and still be successful for this exhibition.

Please submit only two-dimensional artworks. If selected, the artist will be notified via email with drop-off information. All work that is submitted will be juried by Quintana+Behringer, the Phoenix Theatre board and curated in time for their show.

*Please note that the Phoenix Theatre will take a 25% commission on all artwork sold in the gallery.

Please read the following requirements below and submit all appropriate materials in a timely manner to qbcurators@gmail.com.
