RUCKUS Makerspace Announces Entrepreneurial Development Programming for 2017

RUCKUS Makerspace is adding a new program lineup for 2017.  The 12,000ft creative co-working space located in the Circle City Industrial Complex is offering more opportunities for creative entrepreneurs to grow their business.  Supported by grants from the City of Indianapolis and the U.S. Small Business Administration, the free workshop series formerly known as STIR, will be revamped in 2017.  Starting Monday, Jan 9th at 6pm, the RUCKUS Entrepreneurial Development Series will kick off with its first workshop: Creating Your Story: A Step by Step Guide on Pitching to the Media.  Guest speakers Amy Bartner of the Indianapolis Star, and Leslie Bailey of Indianapolis Monthly, will walk the audience through story development, a guide on pitching to the media, and what makes a story news worthy.

This series will offer more workshops, more in-depth subject matter and an impressive lineup of guest speakers.  With a strong focus put on entrepreneurial support and logistical development practices, this free series will cater to a multitude of different trades and industries. Technical Assistance services will include business mentorship through SCORE, and low cost or free legal and accounting services.  Subject matter will include social media, the music industry, food industry, art and business, textiles, retail, to name a few.  Each workshop will focus heavily on personal brand development as well.

The upcoming list of workshops will be announced on January 9th at the kick off workshop.

Through programming and services RUCKUS hopes this series will generate support and excitement for local creative entrepreneurs.  It is an opportunity to educate, inspire and support those who dream of starting a small business and offer them the skills they need to find success in their venture?
