Near East Area Renewal and the Pogues Run ROW Waterway are hosting a free photo contest for youth ages 6-17. The deadline for submitting photos is June 15, 2019. Cash prizes and gift cards will be awarded to contest winners. There will be a First Friday art exhibition on July 5.
Photos must have been taken anywhere along Pogues Run, from 38th and Lennington to where it meets the White River at Kentucky Avenue. The area of special interest for the contest is the section from 21st St. to Interstate 70, which includes the Near Eastside community.
To assist young photographers, there will be a special Art & Nature Walk in Brookside Park on Saturday, May 4, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. (rain date May 11) Learn more here.
