The Media Specialist, Illustrator is creative, passionate, and skilled in developing high impact media resources through the creation of multifaceted illustrations. The position will collaborate and conceptualize with instructional designers, content developers, and subject matter experts as it relates to developing assets to be used within high impact student and teacher educational resources. The Media Specialist, Illustrator will be responsible for taking information from text or data and create storyboards, sketches, and final illustrations that communicate this information concisely and accurately.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret information from text or data points to create visual assets to support and enhance instructional content.
  • Emulate existing character styles and environments for visual consistency.
  • Produce illustrations within the design guidelines for web, mobile app, video, and print.
  • Develop assets collaboratively with team members and participate in a critical iteration-based workflow.
  • Share illustrator expertise and best practices with team members to develop effective workflows and enhance team member media development knowledge and skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge
Associates degree or higher in Graphic Illustration/Visual Communication Art

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with design software (Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.) and file synchronization/cloud software (Dropbox, etc.)
  • Experience with Digital Illustration, Iconography and Layout Design for Print and Digital distribution
  • Experience with Responsive Design and Technical Illustration is a plus.
  • Have a desire to learn and implement new & more effective multimedia and instructional authoring technologies
  • Creative and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and be detail-oriented
  • Ability to take initiative and work proactively
  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully seek answers, and remove obstacles
  • Portfolio of candidate-authored resource samples is required for consideration.
