The Clearwater Public Art & Design Program seeks an artist or artist team to develop artwork for the Crest Lake Park renovation project. The project is being funded through the city’s settlement following the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. The park is located on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, one of the busiest streets in Pinellas County.
BUDGET: $62,000 ($500 for finalists for proposal preparation)
ELIGIBILITY: Professional artists over 18 living in the United States

Artworks focused on the wildlife and plant species native to the habitats of Crest Lake Park have been identified as very important to the residents who live around the park. The Skycrest neighborhood is also of historical significance, including being developed as one of the first true residential suburbs of downtown Clearwater, and, prior to its development, was the location of flower farms that supplied gladiolus to florist throughout Florida.
