BitLoft is an IT consulting company offering managed IT services, web design, and application
development, with a focus on charter school clients and the K-12 education sector. BitLoft is also involved in K-12 curriculum development and is building capacity to create immersive and engaging “gamified” course content that both captivates students and satisfies educational standards.

BitLoft is currently working on a series of game-based courses, and they’re looking for an exceptional individual to join their team as a Contract Senior 3D Environment Artist in our game development department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Art Director and a team of artists and level designers to assemble and
    detail game environments.
  • Flexibility to adapt asset creation to any art style based on the need of the project.
  • Troubleshooting technical and artistic issues.
  • Communicating effectively with team members, production, and management to ensure that the project goals are met.
  • Modeling environment and props for in-game use.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure art supports an immersive gameplay-first player experience.
  • Ensuring 3D environment team is focused on making art optimized for performance as well as quality.
  • Contributing to style guides and visual benchmarks.
  • Collaborating with Lead Concept Artist to expand on key concepts.
  • Mentoring and evaluating the effectiveness of team environment assets.
  • Working with the team to refine workflow pipeline.
  • Communicating effectively and clearly within and across teams.
  • Willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing and exploratory creative environment.
  • Occasionally supporting general production (modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, particle FX, shaders, etc.).

Key Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years in game development
  • Exceptional visual and technical understanding of 3D modeling and texturing
  • Strong spatial sense and an eye for good composition
  • High level of proficient in Maya/MAX, ZBrush, and Substance Designer/Painter
  • Strong understanding of Unity Engine
  • Ability to texture using both procedural generated and hand painted technique
  • Strong organization and great interpersonal communication skill
