About the Speedway Arts Council
The Speedway Arts Council exists to promote, develop, and encourage arts organizations, artists, and participation in the arts; while striving to make art accessible, experiential, and engaging.
Opportunity
The Speedway Arts Council is excited to bring the May Pop Up Shop back for year 3! The Council is looking for artists who would like to participate in this popular event. The Pop Up shop consists of goods, artwork and crafts from local artisans like you. Of course, since the Pop Up shop is directly across the roundabout from the main entrance to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, racing themed goods, artwork and crafts are highly encouraged. The Pop Up shop will be run by a combination of Speedway Arts Council Members and those artists participating in selling their wares in the event. Volunteering for shifts to help run the Pop Up shop will be required, however, this will only be a fraction of the total duration of the Pop Up shop run. The Council has found that the time spent at the Pop up shop has been very enjoyable, if not downright fun.

Deadline to apply is Friday, April 7th, 2023.
Selection Criteria
Goods, arts, and crafts that are produced by or derived from original works of the participants of the Pop Up shop.
Copyrighted material is allowed as long as the proper licensing has been obtained by the participants. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain said licenses.
Suggestions
Experience has shown goods, artwork, and crafts with price points $50.00 and under do very well at the Pop Up shop; however, items priced in the thousands have also sold.
Patrons from the Indianapolis 500 events will most likely be walking for an extended distance back to their transportation, so items that are easily carried are highly encouraged; however, many large items have sold in the Pop Up shop. There are options for larger items; they can be held until the customer can arrange to get the item later, or participants have also arranged to deliver or ship large items to customers.
Race themed merchandise is highly recommended, because it’s the month of May in Speedway!
