St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Carmel is pleased to announce the Call for Entries for Roads to Reconciliation, a juried exhibition scheduled for August 13-28, 2022.
As their congregation continues its efforts to dismantle racism within themselves and their communities, they are inviting Indiana artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, or Persons of Color (BIPOC) to join with artists within their congregation to create work that both celebrates their progress on the journey and acknowledges that they must continue to walk this path with intention and determination. They have a particular interest in artists who are open to engaging in dialog with one another and with the congregation as they create work for the exhibition.
There is no entry fee for submitting work, and each artist may submit up to two works. Artists are encouraged to make their work available for sale; artists will negotiate sales directly with prospective purchasers (St. Christopher’s will retain no commission).
Entries will be accepted online through midnight on July 16, 2022.
Their intention is that the exhibition will cultivate relationships of mutual appreciation among participating artists, congregational members, and the wider community. They believe that the Roads to Reconciliation theme will provide opportunities for deep and fruitful exploration.
