REQUIREMENTS: Media Entry Fee (Survey Indiana): $0 Survey Indiana Survey definition: 1Examine and record the area and features of so as to construct a map, plan, or description 2look carefully and thoroughly at, especially as to appraise them 3investigate the opinions or experience of (a group of people) by asking them questions “Survey Indiana” will focus on the Indiana landscape, as seen by artists living within the state. All mediums are accepted with the exception of photography. How do we relate to the land? What defines our home? The intent of this juried exhibition will be to highlight a wide range of approaches, as well as ideas, that center around the Indiana landscape and our connection to it. This exhibition will coincide with a plein air paint out that will occur on September 4th in downtown Kokomo. The paintings from the event will also be included in the exhibition, as a way to highlight the resurgence of this timeless practice of close observation and expression. In addition, the work produced from the paint out will serve as a counterpoint to the juried artwork. ELIGIBILITY: This juried exhibition is open to artists over the age of 18, who reside in the Indiana. All work must be original and completed in the last two years. All work must be accurately represented in jpeg images. Work not meeting these criteria will not be exhibited. PRESENTATION: Professional presentation of each piece is required. 2D artwork must be framed and have a secure way to hang the piece if it requires hanging. For canvases, the sides and all staples must be covered. ENTRY: Artists can submit up to three works. All entries must be made through the gallery email ugallery@iuk.edu. All entries will be chosen from high-resolution (300dpi) jpeg images. Files not to exceed 5MB. Please also include your contact information, along with artwork titles, medium, and price. The gallery reserves the right to reproduce images accepted into the show for promoting and archiving the exhibition. Due to a generous donor, there will not be a fee required for entry. Questions should be directed to ugallery@iuk.edu subject line “Survey Indiana”. SALES: Sales are encouraged and we will receive a 30% commission for any sold artwork. The sale of artwork will be between the artist and the purchaser. There is a portion of our contract that you will have to fill out in regards to sale of your artwork. Once the artist receives payment, they will notify the gallery and we will invoice the artist for the commission. DELIVERY & PICK-UP: Delivery and pick-up of artwork will be the responsibility of the artist. The artist may choose to either personally drop-off and pick-up the work during gallery hours or ship their work to the gallery. It is the artist’s responsibility to send any shipped artwork in a sturdy, reusable box with a PREPAID return shipping label inside. Any work not picked up 30 days after the end of the show will become the property of the Indiana University Kokomo Downtown Gallery.
