The Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to perform and coordinate the daily maintenance at The Center for the Performing Arts' facilities including shared spaces with The Studio and The Tarkington centers as well as the Great American Songbook Foundation (GASF). This position will also include the coordination and oversight of contractor and vendor services related to the ongoing maintenance of all the CPA/GASF facilities. This position will report to the Director of Facilities and will be responsible for collaborating with each department to ensure efficient and effective completion of services and maintenance of all facilities on campus.

Responsibilities | Facilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair building components to include windows, doors, door locks, baseboards, shelves, bathroom fixtures, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, kitchen equipment, various building systems, fire extinguishers, hardware, etc.
  • Assists in maintenance of mechanical equipment including energy management system software, scheduled oil changing, and greasing, belt & filter changes, air conditioners, compressors, boilers, pumps, and motors along with chemical feed equipment
  • Have general knowledge of operation of building HVAC system to perform various maintenance and safety checks on HVAC systems including filter changes
  • Maintain lights throughout buildings and grounds keeping all lighting systems functional including but not limited to repairs and changing light bulbs
  • Coordinates in-house daily needs with Center staff and janitorial staff on cleaning and even/meeting setups
  • Meet regularly with Director of Facilities to discuss equipment maintenance needs, professional service needs, maintaining cost in compliance with budgetary allocations
  • Assist and provide guidance to third party contractors

  • Experience working with powered basket lift (certification training will be provided)
  • Work with Production to ensure all systems operate efficiently
  • Demonstrate integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values, and principles while ensuring the utmost consistency
  • Skilled at working collaboratively and in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while managing multiple tasks
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays as required
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment
