The Elaine Food Art Proposals

Help The Elaine, your neighborhood food & clothing pantry brought to you by Southeast Community Services and Fletcher Place Community Center, beautify their space. We are looking for food-related artwork from artists of any age or background to fill our front windows and celebrate food culture. You can depict any food theme, such as gardening, your favorite food(s)/meal, food’s role in cultural celebrations and heritage, what a shared meal looks like in your home, the impact of food on health, or anything else you can dream up. However, please do not include any trademarks, brand information or offensive language/imagery as these submissions will not be considered.

We will choose up to 40 designs to print on vinyl decals which will be installed on the garage door window panels of the pantry location at 924 Shelby Street. Artists whose pieces are chosen will be invited to attend the unveiling at Art Squared 2024.

Technical Requirements:

• Panels measure 42” wide by 16” high and there are 40 total spots available. The designs can be in any of the following digital formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, AI, EPS, SVG, PDR, or HEIC, with a max file size of 200MB.
• Submissions due July 31st, 2024.
• Installations will be on display for 3 years
• Full copyrights to the artwork will be retained by the artist at all times. The Elaine is not responsible for any third-party infringement of the artist’s copyright or for protecting the intellectual property rights of participating artists
• Artwork is considered a donation to The Elaine
