The Joyce Awards is the only regional program dedicated to supporting artists of color in major Great Lakes cities. Each award of $75,000 supports an artist and commissioning organization in the creation and production of a new work that engages communities in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and/or Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for the next Joyce Awards will be accepted until September 12, 2021 at 11:59pm CDT, with awardees notified by May 2023. Registration of new organizational applicants is due one week prior, by September 7, 2022.
