The Young Actors Theatre is seeking two enthusiastic theatre teachers to teach our curriculum of Self-Empowerment Theatre in the Phalen Leadership Academies in Indianapolis for one school year. YAT is looking for theatre teachers who are ready to dive deep into an innovative method of theatre education, who are highly motivated by the goal of increasing our students' confidence, creativity, and discipline, and who share our passion for devised theatre. YAT prioritizes organization and discipline in the classroom, and is looking for a teacher who feels thoroughly comfortable managing a classroom while trying out new theatre techniques. Please come prepared to learn quickly and engage deeply with the Self-Empowerment Theatre culture while developing lasting relationships with the school staff, parents, and community overall. The teachers will be teaching multiple grade levels and will additionally be responsible for one audition-only school-wide play each semester. The class schedule is pending, but may include after-school sessions in addition to a full class load.
