To further its mission of breathing life into the inanimate, Indianapolis' Sosa Animation Studios has assistant opportunities for 2-3 people to help the lead artist complete a locally-based animation project. This project will entail helping to complete at least 720 unique drawings with color done in analog, then scanned and edited on the computer. These roles should be viewed as temporary, and ideally are viewed as a stepping stone to your next opportunity and/or an enhancement to your resume.
The specific opportunities are:
Animation artists (1-2 needed): $250 honorarium per day for 1 or 2 days' work
In this role we are looking for someone who is patient, organized, willing to take direction and learn, and excited to give back and go the extra mile. The minimum expectation is that you can enhance one scene of animation through color (typically colored pencil), and help scan it into the computer to see the effects of your work. The volume could be anywhere from 100-180 drawings in an 8-hour time frame (1 working day), with professional oversight. Work will take place on a single weekend day in June or July. If you would like to volunteer your time beyond one day you are welcome to do so, but only one day will be paid work. We are interested in growing our network of local talent and sharing animating skills and processes with interested persons, but only have $500 total to compensate one or two people. Previous animation experience is preferred, but not required.

Animation assistant (1 needed): $40/hr honorarium for 2-3 hours total (may be spread across different days)
In this role we are looking for someone who is clean, quiet, organized, and can stay focused while doing monotonous tasks. Responsibilities include working in a team to scan drawings, number drawings, sharpen pencils, and store original drawings. We prefer someone who lives downtown, and is highly focused. This may be an on-call role, but the opportunity will not be available until closer to the end of the project in July or early August.
